Turfing: The main advantage in using turf rather than seed is that you will have an instantly usable lawn. Once the turf has been installed, the lawn needs no more attention than an ordinary lawn. However, it does need to be irrigated a fortnight after it has been laid.

Seeding: Seeded lawns have two sowing windows per year – one in April/May and another in September/October. It takes a whole season of ongoing care to create a complete lawn. First, an extremely fine seedbed needs to be created.  Then the seedbed needs to be carefully maintained.
